We often get asked the question ‘should I buy a laptop or a desktop?’ Laptops are wonderful if you are going to move them around such as take them travelling. But a big mistake is to buy a laptop and it just sits on the desk. They have a much shorter life than a custom built desktop, the screen size is much smaller and lower than that of a desktop PC, and if a major part inside them fails, it can often be much more costly as the laptop has to be completely dismantled.

A custom built desktop will last you years. It should be lasting around 7 years if built with the right parts. Not 2 or 3 years which seem to be the case these days. The best thing is they are often cheaper than retail prices.
